Two Proven Ways to Increase Email Optin Rates
Visitors are increasingly concerned about securing their personal information when online. They are more likely to provide an email optin when given in a safe context. Not requiring extraneous information, like CAPTCHAs, also increases optin rates. Distributed by Free Press Release
Fullerton, CA, USA (Free-Press-Release.com) May 4, 2009 — FutureWare has released an free downloadable Adobe Flex project and associated support documentation that captures web visitor email optin information in a secure context, which also eliminates annoying having to enter CAPTCHAs. The commented Flex project includes an overview PDF file and a ‘classic’ ASP script. Both can be modified to meet different installation requirements.

Unless specifically encrypted, typically with a Secure Socket Layer connection, all web form submittals that include email optin information are sent in clear text, and easily captured and read by most hackers using freely available software tools. The FutureWare Flex project does not expose the email information and can be doubly encrypted, providing a safe and secure way for visitors to provide their email information, far beyond what ordinary web pages can provide.
Web form submittals also require full page refreshes, interrupting the visitor experience. The FutureWare Flex project can be included in any existing web page, is not affected by different web browser configurations, and does not require a full page refresh, making the visitor experience fluid and natural.
The FutureWare Flex project eliminates the need for CAPTCHAs, those annoying and hard to read phrases or numbers that have to be entered to prove that the visitor is a human, or at least not a computer. A kind of Touring test, CAPTCHAs were intended to stop programmatic page submittals, but fail to do so with ordinary page submits.
The days of squeeze pages are pretty much over, and getting email optins is becoming increasingly difficult as visitors become more guarded in releasing personal information. Adding visible security can overcome some of these concerns, and eliminating both web page refreshes and CAPTCHAs enhances the visitor experience
