Frequently Asked Questions

Regardles of how hard we try, our integrated Help subsystem for the PrescriptionTracker product can't cover everything; if it did it'd be so big no one would bother looking at it. We occasionally get questions, and the following are those and the answers. If you have any questions on our PrescriptionTracker product, then we'll get you the answers. If your question is of interest to current or potential customers, then we'll add it and the answer to this page.

How Is The A Prescription's ExpirationDate Used?

A prescription's expiration date is only an advisory, and is not used by the program for any calculations or refill threshold testing. It is set automatically by the program to six months from the date on which a new prescription is entered or refilled. It can be set manually, from one month to six months from the date on which a new prescription is entered, refilled, or edited (e.g., entering the purchase price).

In contrast, a prescription's end date is used to determine when a refill is needed if the prescription has a daily dose value assigned. It is calculated based on the daily dose value, the total number of doses, and the number of days since the prescription was started, less any doses that were declared as missed.

Is there any way to edit or correct an error when entering a prescription's name or dosage?

The short answer is Yes. You can make any changes when adding a new prescription, but once it's saved that information is locked. This is to comply with the patient info security requirements of the HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act) standard.

How do I add family members?

The first User is the only one who can add new Users to the system, and when they are the current User then the toolbar's New button will be enabled. Clicking on the New button starts an Add User sequence, and the Name edit box will have focus. Enter the new family member's name and click the toolbar's Save button, which will save the new family member to the database. When there is more than one User, then a specific User can be selected to become the current User by selecting the {File|SelectUser} main menu item, and then clicking on desired User's name in the pop-up selector.

If the newly selected User is different from the previously current User, then the Prescription tabsheet view will be refreshed with the new User's prescription information.
The current User's name appears in the program's title bar at the top, and in the lower left-hand section of the status bar at the bottom.

How do I re-order a prescription using the internet?

It's a two-step process. The first is to select a prescription whose associated Pharmacy's information includes a web order page, and you'll need a logon ID and logon password (usually given to you by the pharmacy) tha are also included in the Pharmacy's information (using the Pharmacies tabsheet view). The second is to log to the pharmacy's web page and do your purchase.

Selecting A Prescription That Neeeds Refilling

In the Prescriptions tabsheet view, select a prescription whose remaining number of doses is seven or less (or on week prior to the prescription being used up), which changes the Summary display to include a colored button above the prescription's description, and the caption above this will indicate that a refill is needed.
Double-click on the colored button, which opens your web browser, connects to the pharmacy's web site, and shows a small reorder form in the screen's upper right-hand corner where you do the logon and prescription number entry.

Logging On To The Pharmacy's Web Site

Click on the reorder form's [LoadLogonID] button, which copies the logon ID into the system's Clipboard for you to paste into the pharmacy's logon page, which is done by clicking the logon ID entry and either using the Ctrl+C keyboard combination, or right-click the mouse and selecting the {Paste} menu item.

After you've pasted the logon ID into the pharmacy's logon page, click on the reorder form's [LoadLogonPassword] button, which copies the logon password into the system's Clipboard for you to paste into the pharmacy's logon page, which is done by clicking the logon password entry and either using the Ctrl+C keyboard combination, or right-click the mouse and selecting the {Paste} menu item.

Once you've completed logging on to the pharmacy's web site, you're ready to enter the prescription number. Find where you enter the prescription number on the pharmacy's web page, and click on the reorder form's [LoadPrescriptionID] button, which copies the prescription nunber into the system's Clipboard for you to paste into the pharmacy's web page, which is done by clicking the prescription nunber entry and either using the Ctrl+C keyboard combination, or right-click the mouse and selecting the {Paste} menu item.

After you've connected to the pharmacy's web site, the prescription's Summary display will indicate that an on-line reorder is pending. You can still double-click the button above the prescription's display to connect to the pharmacy's web site again, but eventually you'll want to register the refill purchase by double-clicking the [Re-New Prescription] button, which opens a (Purchase Registration) form where the total doses for the refill, and the amount and receipt number are entered for inclusion in the purchase history.

If the purchase registration is done before the remaining doses reach zero, then the refill will be held as a pending automatic refill, which happens when the remaining doses do reach zero. If the purchase registration is done after the remaining doses reach zero, then the prescription will automatically be refilled using the purchase registration's information, including the total number of doses in this refill and the number of refills remaining for the prescription.

How Can I See The Purchases For A Pharmacy?

Every tabsheet view has its own special FindBy form, opened by clicking the toolbar's [Find] button. For the The PurchaseHistory tabsheet view's FindBy form, at the right, allows you to select specific items, either individually or in various combinations, that will be used to search the database for purchase history information that meets the selected requirements.
If the Find can't find anything using the selected requirements, then the listbox at the left will be empty, and the status bar's message will prompt for another set of FindBy selections.
Anything that is displayed as a result of a Find can be printed to the PC's default printer by clicking the [Print] toolbar button.

Completing A Purchase's Information

Registering a prescription purchase requires, among other things, that either a total amount or a receipt (or order) number be entered, ideally both. This is to insure that the purchase histories are complete, particularly for summing the purchase amounts.
If, for some reason, a prescription's registered purchase amount or receipt number hasn't been entered, then they can be entered by double-clicking on an entry in the Prescriptions tabsheet view's Purchase History sub-tabsheet, which opens an (Edit Registration) form where the missing information can be entered and saved.

Who Is Helmut von Moltke?

It's virtually impossible to come up with a name for demos and information sheets that doesn't belong to a real person, so we use names of individuals from history.
Helmut von Moltke was born in the mid-19th centuary in what was then a part of Denmark, and with Otto von Bismark helped unify Germany out of some 300-plus sovereign micro- and mini-states in 1871.

Anti-Virus Program Considerations

We strongly recommend you disengage any anti-virus program that you may be using during the installation and registration of all FutureWare products. There are known problems with anti-virus programs blocking database access and other file-based processing. If you continue to have problems, then we suggest that you disable the virus scans on the FutureWare product's installation folder. Once installed, all FutureWare products can detect when that have been tampered with.
